… we’re slowly starting to get more of it – Hoorah!

We’ve just been through a record-breaking period of deep-freeze in the UK. I know I’m overly sensitive to the seasons and the environment, but it really felt like a deathly air descended upon the country and made time stand still for a week or so. Horrible.

Anyway, looking forward to warmer times now.

I don’t know why I haven’t posted these two pictures from my shoot with Kate — typical of me to hold back the best.

Happy New Year everyone.

I read that it is a blue moon this NYE. For some reason I think that there should be some superstition surrounding this convergence of events — particularly as this is the end of a decade as well.

I can’t find anything, but as such superstitions have no basis in fact, let’s make one up. How about… ‘a blue moon on NYE ushers in a decade of inner peace and prosperity’ ?

I’d settle for that.

Oh and perhaps something about getting rich and moving to California to live by the Pacific Ocean with a beautiful wife.

Answers on a postcard please.

I don’t mind not knowing where I’m going with my photography, mainly because I’m actually going somewhere for a change.

I’ve been doing things recently I thought I’d never do, but (I’m glad to say), I’m doing them in my way. And what’s more, I’m having fun doing them.

And there’s no law against that, is there?

Cover star is Kate, in an example of the type of shot that I thought I’d never do… but that I’m now very proud of.

I find it fascinating when people comment on my photographs. Of course, I appreciate kind words (who doesn’t?), but I’m always amazed when folk share their take on the ‘story’ that lies behind the images.

I never really think about them in such explicit detail when taking them — I just go with my instincts usually, what looks good, what feels right.

I’m therefore grateful to the people that fill in the gaps, and let me know what’s actually going on in my pictures.

Sometimes they’re wrong, of course… way off the mark, but it’s nice to know that what I do resonates somewhere out there.

Change In The Air

I’m very sensitive to the environment, and in particular the seasons.

Today was the first day of September, and it really felt like autumn was around the corner. The change in light, the crispness of the air and the length of the day.

I think September is my favourite month.
