I am a visual creature.

Despite my professed loathing for ‘too much Photoshop’, I think I would like to refine that statement to ‘too much bad Photoshop’.

Of course, one man’s meat is another man’s poison, so it’s all about taste in the end.

Which I have, and the other man clearly doesn’t.

Imagine working in Hawaaii. I don’t know if the reality matches up, but I imagine it to be like paradise over there.

I have often wondered if the whole of the ‘Lost’ television show was conceived by the creators with the sole purpose of being able to live and work in Hawaaii for long chunks of the year. Sounds like a great idea, I wish I’d come up with it.

I’m thinking that I need to spread my wings a bit, for the sake of my photography — both in terms of locations and to experience the diversity of things that people are doing with photography elsewhere.  A change is as good as a rest, as is often said.

Not specifically Hawaaii though — that’s somewhere that’s rattling around my head for another reason, one that I hope will become clear fairly soon.

I need to do some research into these projector things. There’s too much potential for fun with them for me to resist.

Wasn’t that the name of a Robin Williams film from years ago? I’m pretty sure I saw it at the cinema, now I think about it. Had a huge budget and supposedly innovative production design and everything. Funny how I can’t even be sure of its title now. It might even have been considered a ‘stinker’. All that money spent on a ‘stinker’…

Anyway, toys are good. Grown up toys. Toys that aid creativity. Toys like Lady Lo’s projector (featured here). Toys like my smoke machine. Toys like lasers!

Toys like cameras too, I suppose.

Of course, one man’s toy is another man’s gimmick, but I like to think I’ve got a handle on that.
