Almost Nothing

There isn’t such a thing as ‘nothing’, is there? Perhaps the physicists can clarify that for us. I mean if there ‘is’ then there can’t be ‘not’.. no?

Reminds me of Douglas Adams’ describing the proof of God causing him to vanish in a puff of logic… haha, I loved The Hitch-Hiker’s Guide To The Universe.

Anyhow, I quite often like to jam the subjects of my pictures right up against the edge of the frame. And I mean way beyond the rule-of-thirds placement that so often works well.

I like the idea that it hints at something happening off-frame, something that isn’t spelled out explicitly by what’s contained in-frame. By doing this I often leave huge expanses of ‘nothing’ within the frame, as with these pictures of Rachal S. But that’s just fine with me… I like it like that.
